Nothing screams rock
and roll like going to the Glastonbury Festival.
This celebration of music is the largest green field open-air music and arts
festival in the world and is scheduled to take place from June 26th to 30th. Many others have tried
to emulate its style, but none has come close to matching the exhilaration and
thrill of attending Glastonbury. As a music festival junkie, it has long been
one of my dreams to attend the event and be a part of the party!
Glastonbury is usually a
quiet village in England, but for these five days, the place turns into a
party hub, where thousands converge for the wildest time of their lives. No
matter what your taste in music, almost every musical genre is represented
here, with an opportunity for newcomers to showcase their talent. This grand
party invites people of all age groups and is set out in different regions,
with a dance village,“Jazzworld”, “Acoustic stage” and even a “Kidz” and
“Circus” field. If you are into the more alternative kind of music and are
looking for something less noisy, head to the “Field of Avalon” and the “Green
Fields”. For a more spiritual experience, you won’t be able to go past the
drums and chanting at the “Stone Circle”, as dawn shines through. Regardless of
your preference, expect to be entertained but don’t expect to get much sleep
for those five days.
Make Your Way to Party Central
To reduce the
environmental impact of the festival, people are encouraged to use public
transport to reach the event, with those who do receiving discounts on meals
and merchandise as a Glastonbury Festival Green Traveller. National Express
runs coaches from 60 towns all over Britain or you can travel to Castle Cary
railway station, where shuttle buses will take you to the venue. If you are the
more athletic kind you can cycle to the venue, and will be rewarded with a
dedicated camp site. There are guided bicycle tours from nearby Bristol, so you
can explore the local countryside whilst getting yourself to Glastonbury.

Camping is the best
accommodation option at Glastonbury Festival. There are several camping fields
included in the price of your tickets. If you are looking for a little more
luxury, you can rent a campervan and set it up at one of the camping fields.
There is also some accommodation available in the nearby town, but being a
small village the options are very limited. The best way to really enjoy the
atmosphere of a music festival like Glastonbury is to be part of the action.
So don’t just sit there,
find your wildest outfit, slip on your gumboots (rain or shine) and head out to
Glastonbury for the wildest week of your life. We offer flights to London.
From there, you can get a train, bus or ride to Glastonbury.
